Protect Your Eyes

Radiation exposure adds up. Your eyes are at risk every time you step into the suite.

Cumulative Exposure

Scatter radiation accumulates with every procedure. Even low doses add up over a career spanning thousands of cases.

Eye Lens Sensitivity

The lens of the eye is among the most radiation-sensitive tissues in the body. Repeated occupational exposure is linked to radiation-induced cataracts.

20 mSv/year Limit

The recommended occupational radiation dose limit for the eye lens is 20 mSv per year. One study found 24% of interventional staff exceeded it without eye protection.*

Tested Protection

Every INFAB lens is 0.75 mm Pb lead-equivalent and tested to ASTM F2547-18, the U.S. standard for X-ray attenuation testing.

* ORAMED project, Carinou et al., Radiation Measurements (2011). Across more than 1,300 interventional procedures, 24% of staff exceeded the recommended 20 mSv per year eye lens dose limit without dedicated eye protection.
